Make a Difference
OBJECTIVE:I'm a volunteer with the US Peace Corps serving in Costa Rica with my wife. I am developing a project to use video games as a teaching tool to impart business and youth development skills to users of computers and mobile devices. I'm looking for talented coders, artists, sound engineers, and story writers to create different types of games for these purposes. We won’t stifle your creativity: we’ll demand it. We’re looking for people interested in creating a new type of company. We want you to use your imagination to make innovative games, earn income and build your portfolio, and most of all, create games that do good.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use your imagination, teamwork skills, and talent in coding, art, sound or storytelling to deliver on time, high quality work that aids your team in creating cross platform software and games that are not just fun to play but also teach the end user important skills that they can use in their future.
- Candidates must be enrolled or have graduated from an accredited degree program.
- Demonstrated ability to partner and influence various constituencies through all phases of the product development process, from pre-production to shipment
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technology, platforms, and game areas, and a basic understanding of the challenges facing various types of gameplay, artistic and technical considerations
- Strong written communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to learn and grow, and adapt to quickly changing project requirements based on continuous feedback
- Personal or classroom project experience developing games a plus
- Project leader experience or classwork in managing game development
- Experience with and understanding of player communities and their impact on gameplay and development
- Gamer with varied background of game playing, both video games and other forms of entertainment
- Ability to develop design for the online community experience, not just the game itself
If you work
with us, you will have direct input in the evolution of project assignments and
goals. You will have the opportunity to lead your team in the development of
games that you want to make not just those that meet our more altruistic goals.
You will however be given ultimate responsibility for producing games that meet
the educational, financial and developmental goals.
